It is our mission to ‘crowdfund for the planet’ and enable people around the world to have a positive impact on the environment. Since starting our journey, we have connected with many like-minded individuals who want to achieve the same goal, and over the past six months, we have made great strides in spreading the word on how we can collectively minimise our impact on the planet.
Here are some of the big strides we’ve taken over the last six months as we’ve started building our community of climate heroes:
Creating a platform to spread climate awareness
Our Climate Wise website and social channels are full of educational resources that help raise awareness about the impact of climate change and advise people on how they can look after our planet. Through our website, you can get information about the global projects we support and find out how, by pooling your donations, we can make a real difference.
Educating the next generation of innovators
Since launching our website, we have created a hub for educational resources for children. The aim of Noah and Brookie’s Corner is to inspire and educate the next generation of climate heroes and encourage them to start thinking about the realities of climate change from an early age. By making learning fun and engaging through storytelling, videos and monthly challenges that children can get involved with at home, we hope to instill a lifelong interest in taking care of our planet.
Helping businesses to offset their collective carbon footprint
We love to bring businesses on our journey with us by helping them to make changes that will benefit both their company and the environment. So far, we have welcomed a number of new partners including spottydog communications and ManiMe Kids, who have joined us on our mission and pledged to offset their teams’ carbon footprints. Collectively, they will be helping to fund initiatives that will make a meaningful difference to our planet and its future.
Collaborating with climate heroes
We have joined forces with social media influencers who are passionate about saving the planet, to help spread our message on the benefits of carbon offsetting. Our recent collaborations with climate champions Curiously Conscious and Little Green Blog have helped us to inspire many more people to consider offsetting their carbon footprint as part of a sustainable lifestyle.
Supporting meaningful projects globally
In the society we live in, although we can do our best to minimise our carbon impact, becoming completely carbon neutral is unrealistic for most of us – and a goal that threatens to leave the poorest in our society behind. That is why we directly fund projects, organisations and initiatives that make meaningful change to our planet by offsetting our collective carbon footprint and improving the lives of those in the poorest communities.
Here are a few of the projects we support and examples of the work they’ve done so far:
- Cleaner Safer Water Project in Cambodia: They have saved 90,000 tonnes of CO2 per year and distributed 300,000+ filters providing clean water to nearly two million Cambodians!
- Kenya Biogas Programme: Already they have built 15,140 smoke-free kitchens and reduced 333,500 tonnes CO2!
- Sidrap Wind Farm Project in South Sulawesi: They provide 253,000 MWh of renewable energy per year to the South Sulawesi national grid – enough to power over 70,000 local homes!
